To enable rescue excavation of the Balobok/Sanga-Sanga area on the island of Tawi-Tawi in the southern Philippines, one of the most promising archaeological sites in the country. Evidence suggests that the site began to be inhabited c. 6000 B.C.
The project will secure the site, preserve the artifacts and archaeological evidence, and carry out a community education program to stem looting by the local residents.
