Grant Description

To support the preventive conservation of icons and manuscripts dating from the 9th to the 18th century in the collection of the Svaneti Museum.

The museum is responsible for more than 30,000 icons, manuscripts, and other objects, many of which require a storage environment conducive to their long-term preservation.

This project focuses on eight manuscripts and ten icons in critical need of conservation treatment and includes preventive conservation training for museum staff.
