Funds are for the excavation of the upper meter of construction to determine the condition of the walls and columns of the Peristyle Hall of this important 7th century B.C. monument.
The site is expected to yield materials essential to understanding the religion and history of Yemen, as well as the pre-Islamic trade routes (the site is at the crossroads of the frankincense and myrrh routes).
