To support the documentation of monasteries in the World Heritage site of Anuradhapura which date to the 3rd century BC.
The introduction of Buddhism to Anuradhapura resulted in a distinctive city plan with concentric rings of monasteries, colosssal irrigation, agricultural fields, and a fortified citadel in the nucleus. The monasteries have a distinctive layout, found only in Sri Lanka. This project will enable the subsequent conservation of the monasteries.
