Grant Description

To support a preventive conservation project that will assist communities preserve two rockshelters in the culturally and ecologically sensitive Thai highland. Occupation of the site began in the Late Pleistocene period (35,000 BP) through the 9th century AD.

Recent archaeological work on the site has heightened local awareness of cultural heritage but eco-adventure tourism now threatens the site's environment and spiritual significance.
