In 2003, China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) agreed to provide an RMB 40 million grant to the North Korean Government for the provision of spare parts to support the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the Pyongyang Metro, 1600MW Pukchang Coal-Fired Power Plant, Xingnan Fertilizer Plant, and the Ponghwa Chemical Factory.
China National Complete Plant Import & Export Corp. Ltd. (COMPLANT or 中成进出口股份有限公司) was the contractor responsible for implementation. MOFCOM issued it an RMB 40 million contract in 2003.
AidData assumes that this project was completed since a follow-on project was approved in 2004 (as captured via Record ID#73832). However, precise project implementation start and end dates are unknown.
