Chinese Government provides RMB 20 million interest-free loan — through ETCA — for unspecified purposes On May 31, 2001, the Chinese Government and the Government of Botswana signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA).

Under the terms of this agreement, Chinese Government agreed to provide an RMB 20 million interest-free loan and made these funds available between July 1, 2001 and June 30, 2006. The loan repayment period is July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2021.
