Grant Description

A September 2003 report states that in December 2002, China gave Guinea-Bissau financial assistance to pay civil service salaries as part of a deal that included electrical infrastructure and food supplies.

While follow-up information on this deal could not be found, Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan did meet with Guinea-Bissau Foreign Minister Filomena Mascarenhas Tipote on January 24, 2002.
