On April 27, 2018, a ceremony was held in a Bank of China office in Mongolia to honor multiple Mongolian students who had received scholarships from 255 elementary and middle school students competed fiercely in a written examination. 31 students received the "Star of Hope" scholarship award (3000 RMB/each), and 7 students received the "Young Eagle Program" bursary award (2000 RMB/each).
The total is 107,000 RMB. The "Star of Hope" project involves a school that offers Chinese courses in Mongolia.
It selects a number of elementary and middle school students who are excellent in academics, love Chinese culture, and actively participate in various Chinese cultural activities to whom the China-Mongolia Cultural Education and Social Foundation will give certain rewards.
The "Young Eagle Project" selects a number of students who have poor families yet outstanding achievements from the public schools to take Chinese language courses in Mongolia. Up to now, a total of 2,347 students from all over Mongolia have participated in the examination. A total of 304 elementary and middle school students won the award.
Other scholarships being awarded during the 2018 spring semester were the 2017 "Excellence Program" and the "Pillar Program". The financial provisions for these two scholarships are unknown.
Since August 2014, the foundation has implemented 8 projects of "Star of Hope" and "Young Eagle Project" for primary and middle school students.
A total of more than 2,300 people from the capital city of Ulaanbaatar and the provinces of Darhan Ula, Kobdo and Orkhon participated in the project, 304 students were awarded, and a total of more than 1 million yuan was awarded in scholarships.
Since 2015, the foundation has also set up award programs such as "Star of Excellence", "Pillar Project", and "Dream Achievement" specifically for college students, providing more learning opportunities for Mongolian students.
The Mongolia-China Cultural and Educational Foundation and the Mongolia-China Social Development Fund were established at the initiative of the Bank of China's Ulaanbaatar Office to bring together Chinese-invested organizations and Mongolian organizations in Mongolia.
Since its establishment, the Mongolia-China Cultural and Educational Foundation and the Mongolian-Chinese Social Development Fund have been supporting the activities of the Foundation by the Government of Mongolia and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Mongolia. provided a total of more than 2 million yuan in support and assistance.
In the future, the two foundations will work to support culture and sports, help people in need, protect the environment, and care for the well-being and interests of citizens.
