Grant Description

On January 30, 2015, Wang Zhaofeng, on behalf of the Chinese Government, and Prime Minister Skerrit, on behalf of the Dominican Government, signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) granting Dominica US$16 million in aid funding to finance projects to be agreed upon by the two countries in the subsequent weeks.

It is unclear what projects were ultimately funded through this grant.

One of the projects funded through this grant, the Newton Primary School, was handed over to the Dominican government on January 20, 2016.

One source reports some of the projects to be funded will be a hospital, a bridge in the Layou/Clark Hall area, the Newton Primary School, and improving the livelihood of farmers, (see 'Dominica, China Sign...'), but these may simply be projects funded already that will be completed/in implementation in 2015 (see phrasing at end of 'Dominica Receives US $16m in Grant Aid from China,' for example).
