Grant Description

On June 24, 2019, Tanzanian Foreign Minister Kabudi attended the signing of a financial aid agreement worth 60 billion shillings (about $26 million).

It was signed by the deputy director of the National Agency for International Development Cooperation (CIDCA), Zhou Liujun.

The Chinese government will provide unconditional financial aid funds for Tanzania to support a number of key projects in the fields of industry, infrastructure, and business environment in Tanzania.

The implementation of the project includes the upgrading of the Kikwete Cardiology Institute, the Ruhuji and Rumakali hydropower stations, the Central Railway, and the construction of the Standard Gauge Central Railway.

In addition, the Chinese government has pledged to support the infrastructure construction of Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania.
