Grant Description

Chinese government loans 20 million RMB to Bolivia in Sept. 2009 ETCA On September 29, 2009, the Chinese and Bolivian governments signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) which provided Bolivia a 20 million RMB interest-free loan.

On the same day, an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement granting 15 million RMB (see Record ID#35919) was also signed by the two governments.

The aid agreement was signed on Tuesday by Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca and the Chinese Ambassador in La Paz Qu Shengwu.

The funds from the two agreements are intended for projects that target poverty and, in particular, improve access to water in water-scarce areas through the acquisition of well drilling equipment.

The project it is being used for is called the Tap Water Village Connection." The use period for this loan was extended by five years in 2015 (see Record ID#71251).
