Grant Description

On August 28th 2012, China Harbour Engineering Co., Ltd. (CHEC) donated J$22 million (250,000 USD) to the Jamaican National Premier League. The Jamaican National Premier League is the top division for men's football (soccer) in Jamaica.

According to Jennifer Armond, CHEC's communications manager, the donation was made "to reach to the hearts and pockets of the young men that live in the communities who enjoy playing and watching the sport." The donation was utilized to maintain the welfare of football clubs across Jamaica. Linked with Record ID#72019, a donation of awards that China made to the Premier League on the same date.
