Grant Description

On November 1 2018, the Chinese hospital ship Daishan Dao, also known as the Peace Ark, arrived at the Don Diego terminal in San Souci Port, where it was received by Dominican Republic Navy officers. This a part of the greater "Mission Harmony-2018" project(or 和谐使命－2018).

The ship stayed until November 7, and during that time it provided free medical care for roughly 4,200 Dominican people.

In addition to providing free medical check ups and surgical operations for the people of the Dominican Republic, the crew members of the ship also took part in training local medical staff, cultural exchanges and deck receptions of Dominican officials. Some of these cultural exchanged included Chinese acupuncture and other traditional medicines.
