Grant Description

On November 20, 2019, in the 2020 Budget Speech for the Government of Grenada, the Prime Minister stated that the Chinese Government had granted Grenada USD 38 million for the refurbishment of the Kirani James Athletic Stadium and other support projects.

The construction of the new stadium was completed in 22 months by approximately 120 Chinese and Grenadian laborers, according to the Caribbean Journal.

The stadium serves as the venue for several local, regional and international sporting events, including the popular InterCol Sports Meet, the CARIFTA Games, and the CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 football tournament.

Is not a duplicate of #69313 - the National Cricket Stadium and the Kirani James Stadium are different.
