Grant Description

Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund provides USD 2.4 million loan to Myanmar for 10 projects On January 5, 2018, China and Myanmar signed the project agreement for the first batch of Myanmar-designated projects under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Fund.

According to the agreement, China sponsors Myanmar to carry out feasibility studies including the expansion of the Mekong River and Myanmar’s Wanpeng Port, rice cultivation and optimized planting, coffee production and quality improvement, rural development and vegetable cultivation technology transfer, safe and high-quality planting technology for fruits and vegetables, and promotion of home gardening technology promotion.

The agreement marks the official implementation of the first 10 projects of the Lancang-Mekong Special Fund for Myanmar, such as poverty reduction, youth cultural exchange, and heritage protection. This agreement provided USD 2.4 million to aid these 10 projects implemented in Myanmar.
