China Eximbank provides in-principle support for $1.1 billion loan for Kalunga Naval Academy Construction Project In May 2018, China Eximbank and the Government of Angola were negotiating a $1.1 billion loan agreement for the Kalunga Naval Academy Construction Project at Kalunga in Porto Amboim (Cuanza-Sul Province).

As of January 2025, AidData had not identified any evidence that negotiations ever resulted in a final financing agreement between the Government of Angola and China Eximbank.
