Chinese Government provides RMB 1.2 billion via September 2018 ETCA for multiple projects (Linked to Record ID #s #60139, #60141, #60142)

In September 2018, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement (ETCA) providing RMB 1.2 billion to the Government of Burkina Faso for unspecified projects. The funds would be disbursed over three years. It is unclear whether this is a grant or an interest-free loan.

So far, this agreement has funded an RMB 50 million Defense and Security project (see Record ID#60141), RMB 30 million for budget support (see Record ID#60142), and RMB 400 million for unspecified purposes (see Record ID#60139). It is unclear how the remaining RMB 720 million was spent.
