China Construction Bank and China Eximbank contributes to $145 million credit line for infrastructure projects in 2002 In 2002, China Eximbank and China Construction Bank made available a $145 million credit line to the government of Angola for infrastructure projects contracted to Chinese companies in Angola.
Record #67143 captures China Eximbank's contribution. Record #109583 captures China Construction Bank's contribution.
The projects financed under this credit line include the rehabilitation of electricity networks in Namibe and Tombowa (record #34594), Phase I of the rehabilitation of electricity networks in Luanda (record #103), the rehabilitation of the electricity networks in Lubango (Record ID#34589), and Phase I of the rehabilitation of the Luanda railway (record #152).
The money from this credit line was distributed directly to Chinese firms implementing this project's subsidiary projects.
It was reported that the loan supporting the Luanda Railway and the rehabilitation of electricity networks in Luanda (Phase 1) was provided in the form of export seller's credit, hence it is assumed that this loan is also in the form of export seller's credit.
1. The individual contributions of China Eximbank and China Construction Bank to the $145 million credit line are unknown. For the time being, AidData assumes equal contributions ($72.5 million) across the two financiers.
