China Eximbank pledges preferential buyer’s credit for Balinka-Matur-Ngarai Sianok Tunnel Construction Project In 2016, China Eximbank reportedly signaled interest in issuing a preferential buyer’s credit for the Balinka-Matur-Ngarai Sianok Tunnel Construction Project.
The purpose of the project was to construct tunnels, bridges and roads that connect Balinka, Matur, and Ngarai Sianok measuring 5 km in length.
In a 2015-2019 List of Medium-Term Planned External Loans, the Government of Indonesia’s Planning Ministry (BAPPENAS) identified a potential $175 million loan for this project. However, AidData has not identified that China Eximbank ever issued a loan for this project.
