China Eximbank pledges preferential buyer’s credit for 9.9MW Bonehulu Dam Construction Project In 2016, China Eximbank reportedly signaled interest in issuing a preferential buyer’s credit for the Bonehulu Dam Construction Project.

The purpose of the project was to construct a 9.9MW hydropower plant in Gorontolo Province and thereby irrigate 6,800 hectares of land.

In a 2015-2019 List of Medium-Term Planned External Loans, the Government of Indonesia’s Planning Ministry (BAPPENAS) identified a potential $128,250,000 loan for this project. However, AidData has not identified that China Eximbank ever issued a loan for this project.
