Grant Description

ZTE loans $10 million to Ukrtelecom in 2018 In March 2018, Ukrtelecom agreed to receive a $10million USD credit line from the Chinese producer of telecommunication ZTE in order to finance fiber optic internet access in Ukraine.

The funds will be used to expand the coverage of Internet access in settlements, upgrade the access network and other elements of the company’s infrastructure. The funds became available starting in June 2018 and were to be used for projects with a maximum 5-year payback period.

As of May 2020, information regarding the status of the credit line and projects implementing through the funds are unavailable.

According to the coding guideline, lines of credit are not necessarily loans themselves, but rather agreements to fund individual loans for projects. This credit line seems to indicate there would be many projects, therefore, it is likely this should be a umbrella project.
