Grant Description

Tanzania - Transport Sector Project - Mainland Trunk Roads Activity: MCC Funding will be used to make improvements to three trunk roads on the mainland.

Specifically, MCC Funding will support: (i) Rehabilitation of the following three trunk roads: (1) Tanga - Horohoro Road. (2) Tunduma - Sumbawanga Road. (3) Mtwara Corridor. (ii) Construction supervision of all rehabilitated roads under the Mainland Trunk Roads Activity. (iii) Additional environmental assessments. (iv) Capacity building for the Tanzania National Road Agency ("TANROADS") related to new staff and equipment required to manage the Mainland Trunk Roads Activity. (v) Assistance to TANROADS in preparation of design documentation and bid packages.
