In 2002, Chinese Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Commerce launched a cultural exchange program for foreign students.
There are 35 foreign students from Laos, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania, currently studying at Hebei Wuqiao Acrobatic Art School.
According to Mu Hongyuan, the deputy-director of international exchange program at the school, the students will graduate in August. The exchange program takes about one year.
The Hebei Wuqiao Acrobatic Art School, founded in 1985, has not only trained Chinese acrobats but more than 400 foreign students from developing countries as part of a cultural exchange program that was launched by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Commerce in 2002.
It has successfully trained nearly 400 acrobats in more than 30 countries including Sudan, Ghana, Tanzania, Egypt, and Kenya in 16-years.
Project #20729 captures a sub-project of Sudanese acrobatics training in 2004.
