On April 11, 2019, the Governments of China and Ukraine signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) for a grant worth 200 million RMB for several projects.
According to the official agreement, China Development Bank will open an interest-free account [Official Account Name: «рахунок допомоги № 2018/1»] for the provision of the grant funds to Ukraine and the Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade will keep in open communication with CDB about the use of the funds.
The agreement was signed within the framework of the meeting of the Ukrainian-Chinese Subcommittee on trade and economic cooperation. It entered into force upon signing (April 11, 2019) and will remain in force until the handover has been fulfilled.
The projects to be implemented under the agreement include: providing special rescue machines and equipment for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES of Ukraine); providing simultaneous translation equipment and a conference system for the Ministry of Economic Development; as well as other unspecified projects to be agreed upon by both countries.
On December 26, 2019, this first project was implemented when China handed over 52 pieces of emergency equipment worth RMB 95 million to Ukraine's SES, captured in linked Record ID#66287.
