Grant Description

On July 18, 2016, the Chinese Government and the Government of Iraq - as represented by Chinese Ambassador to Iraq Chen Weiqing and the Iraqi Immigration and Refugee Minister Jassim Muhammad - signed a delivery certificate for a donation of humanitarian aid by the Chinese Government worth $17 million USD.

The aid package consisted of 3,020 caravans, medical equipment and medicine, educational materials such as computers and teaching boards. It also included shelters, tents, blankets, and charcoal.

The aid package was primarily designed to assist internally displaced peoples (IDPs) in Iraq who had been impacted by the war with the Islamic State.
