Grant Description
On February 26, 2019, the Chinese ambassador to Azerbaijan attended the ribbon cutting ceremony of the outdoor sports area of Children's Home No. 2 orphanage in the Surakhani district of Baku, Azerbaijan. The outdoor area included the construction of a basketball court and a football field.
The orphanage is part of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, a private foundation headed by Azerbaijan's First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
The ribbon cutting was attended by the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, the eldest daughter of the President of Azerbaijan. The cost of the project and the contribution from the Chinese embassy were not stated.
