Grant Description

THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO SUPPORT A CONSERVATION EFFORT IN NORTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK, ZAMBIA BY PROVING NECESSARY EQUIPMENT AND RESOURCES TO MONITOR AND PROTECT ITS RHINOCEROS POPULATION.

THIS PROJECT IS INTENDED TO CONSERVE THE SOUTHERN CENTRAL BLACK RHINOCEROS AND THEIR HABITAT BY ADDRESSING THE IMPACTS OF POACHING FOR THE ILLEGAL TRADE.

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: (1) PURCHASING FIELD TRANSPORT AND (2) PROVIDING AERIAL AND GROUND BASED MONITORING FOR SECURITY WITH THE GOAL OF MAINTAINING A ZERO-POACHED STATUS.
