Grant Description

On September 18, 2015, the China Ministry of Commerce signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement (ETCA) granting USD 10.25 million to the Government of Micronesia.

Of this total amount, RMB 3.85 million (USD 613,000) was used to purchase 15 vehicles (see Record ID#64141) and RMB 21.2 million (USD 3.37 million) was spent on the Kahmar Bridge Reconstruction Project (see Record ID#64534). It is unclear how the remaining funds were spent. At the time, this was the largest grant China had ever offered the Federated States of Micronesia.

The FSM president, vice president, and a handful of other top government officials attended the signing ceremony.
