THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO SUPPORT A CONSERVATION EFFORT IN GONAREZHOU NATIONAL PARK, ZIMBABWE BY ENSURING THE SECURITY OF THE REINTRODUCED BLACK RHINOCEROS POPULATION AND MAINTAINING RHINOCEROS HEALTH, BREEDING POTENTIAL, AND DISPERSAL AND SETTLEMENT PATTERNS.

THIS PROJECT IS INTENDED TO CONSERVE THE SOUTHERN CENTRAL BLACK RHINOCEROS SUBSPECIES BY ADDRESSING THE IMPACTS OF THE ILLEGAL WILDLIFE TRADE.

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: (1) SUPPORTING RHINOCEROS SECURITY (2) CONDUCTING MONITORING OF THE POPULATION AND (3) CARRYING OUT AN ANNUAL RHINOCEROS AUDIT FOR THE REESTABLISHMENT OF A VIABLE BLACK RHINOCEROS POPULATION.
