Grant Description

In August 2007, the Chinese Government provided a grant to the Government of Yemen to provide furnishings, office supplies and other materials for the newly-built Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Sana'a. The materials arrived in Sana'a on May 14, 2008.

According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, a ‘furniture installation technical service team dispatched by the Chinese company' arrived in advance of the materials.

The company is unidentified, but for the time being it is assumed to be China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), which also constructed the building itself with financial support from the Chinese Government (see Record ID#41075).
