Grant Description

This project will: (A.1.) Set up an ecological easement on 500 hectares/1,235 acres in Isla de Palma. (A.2.) Establish an Area Voluntarily Destined to Conservation (ADVC) on 290 hectares/716 acres on two properties in Baha Magdalena-Almejas. (A.3.) Develop the Technical Justification Study to support the future decree of a state-level Natural Protected Area (La Tovara). (A.4.) Update the technical sheet for the Laguna San Ignacio RAMSAR site. (B.1.) Develop a Management Plan for La Papalota. (B.2.) Install signage on three properties previously acquired by the grantee. (B.3.) Build 2.3 km/1.4 miles of fence around the perimeter of Cuyutln, a privately protected area that covers 30 hectares/74.13 acres. (B.4.) Clear tidal channels that benefit 202 hectares/498.94 acres of wetland .(B.5.) Monitor habitat conditions in the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone of Laguna San Ignacio. (C) Create the Network of Private and Social Reserves of Northwest Mexico. (D) Construct an artificial wetland of 2 hectares/4.942 acres that will provide a resting place and refuge for birds and clean water for natural wetland conservation.
