CDB and the Government of Angola subsequently signed a subsidiary loan agreement for the Humpata Irrigated Perimeter Construction Project in Angola.

The purpose of this project was to facilitate the irrigation of agricultural fields in the locality of Humpata within Huila Province. 📋 Staff Comments
  1. This project appears to be distinct from Record ID#34898 and Record ID#34784, but it is unclear if the CDB financial commitment captured by Record ID#64679 captures supplemental funding for one of those projects or an entirely separate project. This issue warrants further investigation.
  2. This loan is not included in the database of Chinese loan commitments that SAIS-CARI released in July 2020.
  3. In order to eliminate the risk of double-counting financial commitments, AidData does not record a transaction value (commitment amount) for the CDB loan that supported the Humpata Irrigated Perimeter Construction Project. This borrowing (drawdown) under the $1.5 billion common terms agreement is almost certainly already captured via Record ID#67.
