Grant Description

On 23 August 2017, the Chinese government agreed to donate 1 million USD to the World Food Programme (WFP) for the provision of emergency food aid in Syria, according to the Chinese Embassy in Syria. The funds were used to purchase and distribute 1,300 tons of green beans to over 1 million people across Syria.

Distribution of the food occurred between December 2017 and February 2018. On April 4, 2018, a ceremony was held in Damascus, Syria marking the conclusion of China's aid delivery.
