Grant Description
China Eximbank signs $500 million credit facility framework agreement with EXIM Bank of Thailand for on-lending purposes On May 12, 2017, EXIM Bank of China signed an agreement to provide a $500 million USD bilateral credit facility framework to the EXIM Bank of Thailand for on-lending services.
Under the agreement, EXIM Thailand will be loaned a 500 million US dollar credit facility from China EXIM for use in sub-loans, guarantees, funds, trade financing, cross-border investment, etc. The loan details are unknown.
In return, Eximbank of Thailand will provide financial facilities equivalent to 300 million US dollars to China Eximbank. The agreement aimed to promote Thai-Sino bilateral trade, investment and business expansion to third countries. The signing ceremony was held at China EXIM's office in Beijing. This cooperation was done as part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
