Grant Description
On March 16, 2018, the Chinese Government committed or handed over $36 million USD in grant funding to Cuba.
The following projects were covered by this $36 million USD figure: - ID#54806 - $6.9 million USD for equipment for Cuba's livestock recovery program; - ID#54808 - $7.2 million USD for equipment to modernize Cuban customs at ports and airports; - ID#54809 - $3 million USD for the supply of raw materials for the production of photovoltaic solar panels; - ID#69352 - $7.7 million USD for the donation of rice for emergency food assistance; - ID#70160 - a donation of a set of hydraulic system maintenance equipment; - ID#54850 - a donation of equipment for the improvement of the water supply system (this project was committed to in 2015 and delivered in 2018; it is unclear whether the $36 million USD figure included this grant).
