Grant Description

China Eximbank provides loan for 115kV Luangprabang 2–Sayabouly Power Transmission Line Project China Eximbank reportedly provided a loan for the 115kV Luangprabang 2–Sayabouly Power Transmission Line Project (also referred to as the Luangprabang 2 to Sayaboury/Xaiyabuli/Saiyabuli Power Transmission Line or 琅勃拉邦2沙耶武里输电线项目).

According to the Lao PDR Accelerating Structural Transformation for Inclusive Growth report (p.178), the 76 km transmission line was constructed between 2012 and 2017 and was financed by China Eximbank and Yunnan Power Grid Corporation. The project is owned by Électricité du Laos. A 2011 JICA report noted no financing at that time, but later sources confirm Chinese involvement.
