Grant Description

The purpose of this 1-year project is to protect Nigeria-Cameroon chimpanzees, western gorillas, and the Ebo Forest by promoting creation of the Ebo National Park (ENP).

Specific activities include: 1) decreasing threats to the Ebo forest and its wildlife by disseminating threat level information to government law enforcement and other stakeholders; 2) working with partners and stakeholders to decrease hunting and habitat destruction threats; 3) increasing national knowledge, understanding, sympathy and pride in wildlife issues by reinforcing a fledgling public engagement and media strategy.
