Grant Description

In August 2002, China announced a $600,000 training programme for Ethiopian textile workers, which will involve the establishment of six training centres and may herald further joint ventures in textiles. The centers will be constructed at Oromia, Tigray, Southern Nations, and Addis Ababa regions.

China will provide equipment for the centers, and has allocated around 5 million ETB and planned to send five experts to train Ethiopians for ten months. The status of this project is uncertain.
