Grant Description

The purpose of this project is to conserve the jaguar and its prey by addressing their main threats, including human-wildlife conflict, unsustainable natural resource practices, and illegal wildlife trafficking.

Specific activities include implementing a jaguar friendly livestock certification model that reduces the costs of living with wildlife, supporting the Ministry of Environment to enforce the National Jaguar Management Plan, and engaging the formal education sector to promote the importance of preventing illegal wildlife trafficking in Paraguay, with an emphasis on jaguars.
