Grant Description

On March 19, 2008 the Chinese Minister of Commerce, Chen Deming, and the Peruvian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jose Antonia Garcia Belaunde, signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA), providing the Government of Peru with a 10 million RMB grant. The agreement was ratified on July 24, 2008, and effective August 1, 2008.

China Development Bank and Banco de la Nacion will handle implementation and transaction details.

Although no projects were specified at the time the ETCA was signed, the funds were ultimately used to fund several projects: Record ID#56100: The provision of 400 agricultural spraying machines, worth RMB 500,000. Letters of Exchange signed October 6, 2014.

Record ID#62921: Feasibility study for National Emergency Operations Center (Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia Nacional/COEN), worth RMB 550,000. Letters of Exchange signed April 6, 2013. Record ID#73599: Feasibility study for José María Arguedas Elementary School (No. 20602), worth RMB 350,000.

Letters of Exchange signed November 23, 2009. Record ID#56102: Provision of anti-cold materials (materials anti-friaje), worth RMB 20 million total.

Project cost was divided with November 12, 2014 ETCA (see Record ID#36419), but the breakdown of funds between the two is unclear. Letters of Exchange were signed May 22, 2015.
