Grant Description
In 2015, the Chinese Government provided a $1.5 million grant to the Government of Zimbabwe for the Lupane Primary School Construction Project. This project is also known as the Lupane China-Africa Friendship Primary School Project.
This project involved the construction of a primary school located in the town of Lupane within Matabeleland North Province. The school includes 7 elementary school classrooms and 3 preschool classrooms, which can accommodate 400 children. The campus also includes a computer lab, staff offices, a football field, a basketball court and a 300-meter track.
Anhui Foreign Economic Construction (Group) Co., Ltd. was the contractor responsible for implementation. Construction began in August 2015 and ended on 27 February, 2016. The school was officially handed over the the Zimbabwean authorities on 28 May, 2016. This project is completed.
