Grant Description

Starting on November 15, 2012, a group of 275 Chinese peacekeeping engineers were scheduled to be deployed to Wau, South Sudan in three batches.

These engineers were responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges and airports in the mission area as well as water supply and power supply facilities. This force was sent from the Jinan Military Region. The mission period for the peacekeepers was 8 months. In addition, the force of Chinese peacekeepers included a separate 63-member medical team.

The medical team will be separate from the other group of 275 peacekeepers. The total length of time that the team spent in South Sudan is uncertain.
