Grant Description

The purpose of this project is to train teachers and community leaders in conservation education and leadership to create an enabling environment for great ape and biodiversity conservation in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Specific activities include: (1) the development of a conservation education curriculum for children and adults in the Grauer landscape; (2) a train-the-trainer course to introduce educational materials to educators; and (3) villager programs on conservation education targeting adults.
