Grant Description

According to the Government of Ethiopia’s Aid Management Platform (AMP), the Chinese Government and the Government of Ethiopia signed an ETB 2,061,570 grant agreement for a Biogas Project on May 18, 2010. The purpose of this project was to provide biogas equipment to the Ethiopian Ministry of Water Resources and Energy.

On June 28, 2012, the equipment was officially handed over to the Ethiopian Ministry of Water Resources and Energy.

The Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Xie Xiaoyan and the Minister of Water Resources and Energy, Alemayhu Teguin, signed the handover certificates on behalf of their respective governments.
