CANADIAN PRAIRIE POTHOLE & WESTERN BOREA

This project is the next step in DUCs multi-year commitment to achieve the goals and objectives of the PHJV under the NAWMP.

With a goal of supporting the new 2013-2020 PHJV Implementation Plan, it will result in 8,833 secured acres and 7,669 enhanced acres of wetlands and associated upland habitat.

Protection activities will include 1,890 acres (364 wetland and 1,526 upland) in fee simple acquisition, 4,837 acres (1,267 wetland and 3,570 upland) in conservation easements, and 2,106 acres (637 wetland and 1,469 upland) in conservation agreements.

This project will also influence another 6,926,470 acres through stewardship activities and will manage 3,659,055 previously protected acres. All of these efforts will be refined through evaluation, and supported by communications and endowment.
