Grant Description

Chinese Government pledges to fund Kakobola Dam Construction Project According to the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Aid Management Platform (AMP), the Chinese Government pledged to loan $10,543,156.37 for the construction of Kakobola dam (Chinese name: 卡考包拉电站) in 2010.

However, as of May 2020, no disbursements have been made.

According to a MOFCOM article published in November 2017, India is currently financing the construction of the Kakobola dam, and has provided $109 million in financing to the project. It is unclear if the Chinese Government has officially committed funding for this project. The French project title is Construction barrage Kakobola (Kakobola-Kikwit, Kakobola-Gungu, et Kakobola-Idiofa).
