On April 12, 2016, a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Tirunesh-Beijing Hospital Phase II project was held.
Phase I, which involved the construction of an outpatient building and an in-patient building with 100 patient-beds, was completed on November 16, 2011.
Phase II was launched in 2016 to build dormitories, a kitchen, a warehouse, a road, retaining walls and medical auxiliary rooms. Top International Engineering Corporation (TIEC) was contracted to implement the project.
The Tirunesh-Beijing Hospital Phase II project was financed through a 70 million Birr grant from the Chinese Government.
