Grant Description

In 2015, China granted three container scanners worth 1,224,772,000 Kenyan shillings to Kenya.

The donation was done through the Kenya National Treasury to aid reform and modernization programs undertaken by the Kenya Revenue Authority in all departments for revenue enhancement and efficient service delivery. On August 25, 2017, three container scanners were delivered to the port of Mombasa.

John Njiraini, commissioner general of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), said the newly-installed non-intrusive cargo scanners include two fixed and one mobile unit.
