China Eximbank pledges to loan $580 million USD for the Djibouti-Galileh Toll Road Construction Project In 2016, China Eximbank reportedly pledged to extend a $580 million USD loan to the Government of Djibouti for the construction of the Djibouti-Galileh Toll Road Construction Project.

However, according to February 2020 correspondence between AidData’s Executive Director and the IMF’s Mission Chief to Djibouti, this loan pledge never materialized into an official commitment.
